Motel Oasis

I stayed in room 23. I’ve been coming to this motel off and on for family events for 30 years, and I’ve never seen it this filthy or run down. The clothes hanging space and ironing board were disappointing too. There were broken Venetian slats on the windows, and the bathroom was missing a louvre glass panel as well as one clear panel. With a table and chairs right outside the bathroom window, I wondered who might be looking in. At night, the broken Venetian slats also left me wondering if someone could peer through. Sadly, I won’t be back. I wouldn’t give it one star.

We stayed overnight in room 24 on April 7 with my husband, three children and uncle. The floors were dirty, and the bathroom sliding door kept opening when we tried to use it. There was barely any hot water in the shower. There was no kitchen sink, so I had nowhere to wash and sterilize baby bottles and had to do the dishes in the small bathroom. I’ve never seen accommodation so appalling.

The room and shower were in great condition, and check-in was easy. It was easy to find, too. I’ll definitely be back.

We had 25 people at our class reunion and not one person complained. The Saturday buffet dinner and Sunday buffet breakfast were both outstanding, and our menu meals on Friday night were excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time, and nothing was too much trouble. We’ve booked again for next year’s reunion, and I’d recommend it in a heartbeat. Thanks again to all the staff. Marlene. The motel is clearly older, but the rooms were generally clean and there was plenty of hot water. Tea, coffee, shampoo, conditioner and biscuits were provided.
