The room’s musty, mouldy smell and the bathroom’s drain odour made the condition feel especially concerning. There was visible mould on the shower screens and grout, and it didn’t seem to have been cleaned properly. The bathroom was dated, too. I expected a five-star stay at Peppers, but the resort felt worn and run down. Basic things were missing or unusable: no bottled water in the fridge, Wi-Fi that didn’t work, and a dead room phone, so I couldn’t reach reception or room service. The pool area was very basic for a place charging five-star prices. This felt more like a basic motel than a premium resort, and the facilities and service didn’t match the five-star marketing. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

We had a restful, enjoyable stay, and the staff helped create a relaxed atmosphere. A few details, though, could use attention. Our room had a newly installed air-conditioning unit, but the wall around it was left unfinished. We were also surprised there was no television in the bedroom. At the restaurant, staff repeatedly piled used plates high while clearing tables, and cutlery fell onto the floor several times. It made dining nearby uncomfortable, and the practice may raise safety concerns. Shared butter plates and knives, along with communal condiments, also felt less reassuring from a hygiene perspective. Individual portions might suit guests’ cleanliness expectations better. Some parts of the resort are starting to feel tired. Peppers has a strong reputation, and addressing these points could help it meet the standards guests expect. We offer this feedback constructively and hope it’s useful.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but the stay fell short of what I expected from a Peppers resort. The place looks tired and needs maintenance, and the parking bays are extremely narrow. At the main pool, used plastic cups and cardboard food containers were left around. During our three days there, nobody from the waitstaff cleared them, and dried tomato sauce remained on parts of the seating, tiles and loungers. I eventually cleared a spot so we could sit on a reasonably clean patch of beach area. Breakfast was decent, but staff chatted among themselves instead of clearing our plates. I was also told off for touching the pancake machine. The check-in woman was great. Beyond her, especially at the front desk, staff often wouldn’t look at or acknowledge us as we passed, even when reception was quiet. No friendly smile or greeting, and very little customer service. At the pool bar, we were told this was a luxury hotel when we asked for the happy-hour price just two minutes after happy hour ended.

There’s no onsite EV charging, but the DC fast chargers directly across the road were really convenient. The location is good, with nice restaurants and a pub just a short walk away. Food options onsite were extremely limited, though, and the bar stayed closed throughout our visit. Our room’s air-conditioning stopped working one day. Reception tried to sort it out by moving us, but the next room was occupied by another couple, which was distressing for them and uncomfortable for us. We had to move once more to a third room. A staff member said this apparently happens often, which was worrying. The property was clean, but it felt worn and overdue for maintenance, including broken tiles and paint that needs touching up. It gave us the impression the place might be winding down after the busy summer holiday period. Staff were polite, but the stay wasn’t what we expected and we wouldn’t rush back.

The kids loved the excellent pool, and the room had plenty of space for a family. Our room itself looked tired and could use a spruce-up. The kitchen floor felt uneven, almost as if it had lifted, with a bubble underfoot. It needs replacing. A good family-friendly place with room to spread out, though the rooms need some maintenance and updating.
