voco Gosford by IHG

We had buffet breakfast every day, and it was fresh, tasty and well stocked. Even when things got busy, the staff stayed friendly and attentive. The pool was lovely too, and its swim up bar is a great design choice that sets Voco Gosford apart from many hotels in Sydney and the Central Coast region. The rooms were incredibly spacious, and I liked the neutral colours that suited the area. Bonnie checked me in, was very friendly, and gave us useful information about the hotel and surrounds. It was a 10/10 stay from beginning to end. Special thanks to Bonnie and the lovely taller gentleman whose name I did get, they made my stay special. I'd gladly return.

The waterfront location is great, and every staff member we dealt with, from reception to the breakfast buffet, was helpful. It was also one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. Some 5* hotels have triggered an allergic response for me from their bed sheets, but I had no issue here. I arrived three hours early, and they accommodated me without a charge. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Our room faced the neighbouring residential building, leaving very little privacy. Residents could see straight in, so we kept the curtains closed most of the time. The view was like the one shown for a standard room, not the premium one we paid extra for, and this was on a quiet Sunday night. We chose the King Premium Balcony room at the new voco Hotel because its website photos showed an outlook towards Rumbalara Reserve. That was the main reason we booked and paid more, and we were looking forward to enjoying the view from the balcony. If it had been pictured or described accurately, we wouldn't have booked this room or spent the extra money. voco needs to review how it advertises this room type. A balcony with no view and no privacy doesn't feel premium.

The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but there were still some solid choices. Room service was efficient and the food had great flavour. The hotel was visibly busy over the weekend, yet the service still felt personal and attentive. Caitlin welcomed us at reception and kept checking in throughout our stay. Her warm, thoughtful approach made the visit memorable. We had a pleasant, relaxing staycation and would definitely recommend voco Gosford.
