Accommodation On Sheridan

The owners were friendly and did their best to make the stay comfortable. It's about a 15-minute walk to the Esplanade and Cairns Central Mall. This is budget accommodation in an older building with older appliances, though the beds are new and the mattress and pillows are very comfortable. The whole apartment was spotless, with crisp clean sheets and a bathroom and shower cubicle free of mould. The shower pressure was good. There were kitchen utensils, crockery, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, air conditioning and ceiling fans.

Everything was nearby, including great restaurants and the night market. The owners were welcoming and friendly, and our room was clean and well cared for. We loved our holiday and will definitely come back on our next trip to Cairns. Thank you!

The pool was a hit with us, and I appreciated that it was tucked away from the main road. We stayed for two weeks, and the owners were lovely with us and our toddler. The air conditioner, fridge and other utilities all worked, and the apartment was cleaned once, halfway through our 14-day stay, with the sheets changed. You can expect some road noise since it's beside a main road, though it wasn't too bad. There were plenty of insects around as well, but that's just Cairns and not a reflection on the property. Muddy’s playground and cafe and Cairns Central are both about 1 km away. Buses and trains from there can take you up to Kuranda. It was an EXCELLENT stay and well worth the money.

At $75 a night, the value is hard to beat, and this is my fourth stay here because it fits our budget. The owners, Connie and Carmelo, are friendly and helpful. Our clean, nicely decorated unit had a bedroom sleeping three, a dining and kitchen area, and a bathroom. The kitchen came with a microwave oven, four-burner gas stove, stainless steel pots and a bar fridge, while the dining area had a table and four chairs. Everything was spotless, though the kitchen and bathroom windows could use a coat of paint. The motel is close to the city centre. The road noise bothered us at first, since we're used to the quiet of country Victoria and not the constant buses and trucks, but after two days we got used to it. We'll stay here again.
