Jack & Newell Apartments Cairns

The three-bedroom apartment gave our family of six plenty of space to relax, and having two car spaces assigned to it was a nice bonus. The location was wonderful for walking to most places we wanted to visit. Even with the children, the Reef Terminal was only seven minutes away, and the shopping centre, train station, and night market were close too. There were lots of food options. We especially enjoyed breakfast at Wharf One and dinner at Hemingway Brewery. We had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend the apartment, especially for families. A couple of things to know before checkout: we had to separate rubbish, put general waste down a chute outside the apartment, and take recyclables to a bin downstairs. We were surprised, since we're used to cleaners handling things after we separate the rubbish. We also had to wash, dry, and put away all the dishes. We skipped cooking breakfast on our last day because there wasn't time to dry everything. At most places we've stayed, running the dishwasher before leaving has been enough. Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. There was loud partying from the wharf on our first night, and the master bedroom facing it could be noisy. Thankfully, the other two bedrooms were quieter.

We booked a seven-day stay, and Jodie made the first phone call such a great experience. Her customer service couldn't be faulted. The view from our balcony was breathtaking, and the pool was very clean. The gym was well equipped too. Our room was spotless, the facilities were fantastic, and all the staff helped make the stay unforgettable. Can't wait to book again for next year.

The location was fantastic, about a five-minute walk to the pier restaurants and bars, with the casino just two doors away. We loved the inlet view from the balcony. Apartment 701 was spacious, clean, and wonderful, with a well-appointed kitchen full of utensils. There was already ice and water in the freezer and fridge when we arrived, which we appreciated. The compendium was thorough and informative, and three split-system air conditioners kept the place cool. Booking by email was easy and helpful, as was check-in. Jodie was especially helpful and nothing was too much trouble. One staff member was very forgiving when we locked ourselves out, and another was polite and kind. There was some noise from the street and neighboring apartment blocks, plus an hourly bell tower chime somewhere nearby. The chime wasn't intrusive, but bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. We hope to stay again at the first chance.

Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment was clean, spacious, and had plenty of room. The water views from the rooms and balcony were great. Shops, the esplanade, casino, and train station were all very central and close by. Friendly staff too. Definitely recommend it!
