The rooms are spacious, and the location is good, but the receptionist’s attitude was the biggest problem. He spoke rudely and dismissively to guests and seemed to be in a bad mood all the time. You never know what someone is dealing with, so I hope things improve for him, but it’s surprising behavior for someone whose job is to host and look after guests. The hotel advertises a 24/7 gym across the street, but it isn’t open around the clock. It’s about a 10-minute walk away, and the whole hotel has just one key/token. If someone else has it, you’re told to wait, which is a frustrating way to spend vacation time. The Wi-Fi barely worked, probably because the setup is outdated. A connection of at least 100 Mbps and modern routers or repeaters would help a lot. They gave us the access codes on a little ATM-style receipt, which was a first for me. The pool was dirty and clearly needed a proper cleaning. If an unfriendly receptionist doesn’t bother you, you’ll still get a solid hotel in a good location for a fair price.

We had two two-bedroom units for a couple of weeks over Christmas/January while relocating from another state. One had been refurbished and one hadn’t, but both were very nice, spacious, and equipped with a washer and dryer, which came in handy. The programmed security gates made us feel the property was secure at night. The pool was fabulous and refreshing, and my husband liked having a gym with a great range of equipment just 3-4 minutes down the road. Highly recommend Tradewinds McLeod Holiday Apartments.

Housekeeping was nonexistent during our four days. The toilet wasn’t clean when we arrived, the toilet and rooms weren’t cleaned while we were there, and the blankets looked old, worn, and dirty. We were five people, but reception supplied only two toilet paper rolls for the whole stay. When we asked for more, the receptionist was rude and gave us just two extra rolls, saying that was all they could provide, so we had to buy our own. Very poor service and cleanliness. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

What was supposed to be a nice holiday was spoiled by Wayne at reception. I think that was his name. He was plainly rude from the moment we checked in, and I was shocked by how he spoke to me and others on the property. Owners should pay attention to who represents their apartments. I’d steer clear until the management is replaced. I’ve edited this after the response claimed I’d done something wrong, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Wayne was miserable and rude from the start. Looking at the other responses over the years, I also see no accountability for the behavior, just attacks on people who leave negative feedback. Childish and unprofessional.

The property was poorly maintained, and the owner refused to give us more toilet tissue when we asked. Four rolls for five people over four days wasn’t enough. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
