Nunawading Motor Inn

The reception was flexible about arrival time and really accommodating. The bed was extremely comfortable, the amenities were fine, and the rooms, though a bit dated, were very clean. They still leave biscuits out to have with your tea or coffee, which is a nice bonus. If you need somewhere to sleep in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs without paying a premium, this works well. We'll be back.

They called soon after I booked to introduce themselves and explain the motor inn. Since I was arriving after reception closed, they also gave me clear instructions for checking in after hours. There was plenty of parking when I arrived, and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It made for a relaxing stay, with friendly service. A really good local motor inn.

Getting into the room after a frosty night, we found it freezing, with no heating already on. It took a while to work out the controls, and the remote's missing battery cover had been held on with gaffer tape. Once running, the heater ticked loudly. We hadn't expected that for the price. We also booked what we thought was a two-bedroom unit, but it was one bedroom with a queen bed in the living area and twin beds in a separate room. The place felt shabby, and the bathroom smelled like something had died nearby. I never saw any staff, and the office was locked and empty whenever I went by, though communication about directions and getting into the room was good.

They helped and supported us so much, and I'm always grateful for their kindness. During our second stay in Australia, they came to feel like family to me. I can't forget what a great time we had. I've recommended this motel to so many friends, and they've all had some of their best times there too. People around me know about it because I keep telling them. It's clean, lovely, spacious, accessible and safe, with good value for money. Simply fantastic, and I'd say don't think twice about booking.
