The accommodation was beautiful, clean, tidy, and had everything we needed plus some extras, but the shared areas let the stay down a little. The games room needs some care and was short on games and activities. The pool area has lots of potential, though the paths needed cleaning, leaves needed clearing from the pool, and the lights around it needed fixing. A few small touches would have made it even better. We did enjoy seeing geckos all around outside at night.

The villa was lovely, with very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The hosts were so friendly and replied really quickly.

After two days, we were glad to leave. It was a waste of money and not a nice first stay in Coffs Harbour. Our 'villa' ('Bird Of Paradise') felt like a badly renovated granny flat, with a rough, ugly interior. You might overlook that if it were clean and well maintained, but it was neither. The place was dirty, there was mould on the walls that left us sneezing for two days, the bath was greasy, and one blanket smelled awful, like stinking feet.

We stayed recently while driving up the east coast, and the owners were friendly and laid back. They made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. We were in the azalea lodge, which worked for our baby, who had a separate room from us, and our dog, who could use an enclosed yard. It was a relaxing stay, and we look forward to staying again on our return leg.

The service felt five-star, and the kids especially loved our stay. I’d booked before seeing the previous review and worried I’d made the wrong choice, but everything was fine. We paid a little more than we had for a much smaller place in Park Beach two weeks earlier, and that one had no facilities. For the reasonable rates, it’s best to keep expectations realistic about getting every extra you’d find at an international five-star hotel. I’d happily recommend the Tropic Oasis, though bring some extra toilet paper if you’re staying several nights. 🙂
