We only booked a single night, and wished we'd planned for longer. Sue and Patrick's hospitality was wonderful, and we felt at home right away. Their birds were a joy to spend time with, especially Fritz the Kakadu!!! Everything was comfortable, and the location worked well, about 30 minutes from Cairns and 10 minutes from Kuranda village. Patrick and Sue made us feel so welcome and generously let us into their world of animal rescue and rehabilitation. Patrick even took us on a night walk to see what nocturnal neighbours were about. It felt like staying in a small wildlife sanctuary, and the place itself is decorated with so much care and love. It's a bit of a walk from Kuranda Station, but you can arrange a lift with Patrick and Sue ahead of time, so getting there is easy. This was much more than just accommodation, and we had such a memorable time that we've kept recommending it to friends since we got home.

We stayed in the Congo Room because the cabin was already booked, and our hosts still made us feel right at home. Patrick and Sue gave us a wonderful tour of the spectacular gardens and their amazing animal artwork. We arrived late, but just made it in time for feeding the animals, which was naturally my wife's favourite part. The rainforest setting was beautiful and so peaceful. With an early flight the next morning, we couldn't stay longer, but I hope we'll get another chance to come back 😊.

The place has such a healing feel, and I don't think I've ever slept better. Sue and Patrick are incredibly gracious hosts. I wish I could rate it higher, and I'm already looking forward to staying again 🖤🐾
