Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park

There’s potential here, but our weekend stay for a family birthday was a real letdown. We booked three cabins, and the shared kitchen wasn’t cleaned while we were there. Its kettle blew up, so thankfully we had our own gas cookers to boil water. The cabins also had no toilets, which meant using the shared bathrooms. Those smelled awful, had stagnant water on the floors and wet mats left out from check-in, and the rubbish bin was overflowing with rotten waste. We never saw cleaners come through. The cabin doonas were filthy, with crusted hair, stains, and grime. We left them in a corner and used the sheets, which at least looked clean. Making our own beds was fine; finding the bedding in that state wasn’t. Safety and upkeep were poor too. The slides had exposed screws, and the pool water was murky with debris floating in it. For a Big 4 park, I expected basic maintenance, cleanliness, and safety, and it fell short on all three. I don’t like writing negative reviews, but I hope this prompts real improvements. Until then, book at your own risk.

Our dogs had a great time, and we felt at home too. The pet friendly cabin was clean and lovely, with a nice cold fridge and quiet aircon. The double bed was a little tight, but manageable.

The cabins looked nice, and the amenities and camp kitchen were clean. Pool deck Cafe has a really nice atmosphere, too. We had freshly prepared food at decent prices, and the service was friendly. Food and service were both top notch.

We’ve come to Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park almost every year for six years, except for 2024, but after this visit we won’t be back. The pool and food are still enjoyable, though they’re no longer enough to make a stay worthwhile. We booked the Family Beach House for three nights and arrived at 4:30 pm to find the beds unmade, with the sheets folded at the ends. Cockroaches were crawling across the beds, floors, and room. When my husband lifted a folded sheet, six fell out. Our kids couldn’t sleep, waking through the night with cockroaches crawling on them, so we left after just one night. The unit was dirty as well. The plates and cookware felt greasy, the surfaces were dusty, and the kitchen lacked a chopping board and peeler. The knife was so blunt we had to use a butter knife. There was no bar soap in the bathroom, no pool towels, and the Wi-Fi worked only around the bar, not in the accommodation. The park has felt more run down each year, though we kept returning for the inflatable in the pool and the food. This time the accommodation was unacceptable. It feels like the place isn’t being cared for, and the owners seem disengaged. That shows in the facilities.
