Emmanuel Holiday Apartment

The location was perfect, and the beds were comfortable. Rooms are a bit tired, though clean, and the shower screen was broken. The dryer was extremely inefficient, so I had to use the communal laundry.

The location was handy, with an easy walk to Main Street. But the pool was a bit dirty, and being told we couldn't cook seafood in the apartment didn't feel very customer friendly. The bedrooms also weren't air conditioned, despite the place being advertised as air conditioned, so we had to go out and buy fans on our first day.

The room itself was clean, but having windows that couldn't be opened made the small queen room feel airless and pretty awful. We had booked for $149 after checking the website and calling, expecting to stay in one of the apartments. Instead, on arrival we were told we had a room at the Comfort Inn, and reception said an apartment would cost at least $200. While I was waiting, a woman ahead of me asked about a room for two people for two nights. Reception first quoted $377.27 for the last family room, then changed the price to $331.27 when she checked again. The woman accepted it. Later, around 9pm, I walked past and saw about half the parking spaces empty, and it looked like roughly half the rooms had no lights on. Between feeling misled about being moved from the Emmanuel apartments to the Comfort Inn and watching that price exchange, we were left thinking they were focused on maximizing revenue without being upfront with customers. I won't be back.

The location is great, but the buildings are very old and need renovating. The towels weren't white and didn't smell nice, and the barbecue area wasn't clean. Parking spaces aren't numbered. There's no front door, just a back aluminium sliding door, and if you lock it from outside you can't open it from inside. The toilet has no vent, the bathroom fan makes noise without really clearing the air, and the shower rose won't stay in place.
