The Lakes Apartments

The welcome made our holiday feel relaxed from the start. The staff took time to help us settle in and seemed to care about how we were doing, which is the kind of service that's hard to find and that we'll remember. Our whole family had plenty of room to unwind. The rooms were large, comfortable and very clean, almost like being at home. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place and would recommend it highly.

We come back every year for our girls' week because it's such a lovely, quiet spot to relax. Shops are nearby, and supermarkets, pubs, op shops and the beach are all easy to reach on foot. The apartment is fully equipped and spotlessly clean. We enjoy coming back.

We stayed over the Oz day weekend in two three-bedroom apartments, so I can only speak to their condition and exterior. They looked ordinary in the photos and on the map, but turned out fantastic. They aren't on the waterfront, though getting to the attractions is an extremely easy walk. Woolies, the beach, boat hire and the main retail strip are all walkable too. The townhouses are clean, tidy and roomy, with all the amenities we needed. Our three-bedroom units had two private garages, and there's boat parking, a games room, community BBQs, a kid friendly pool and a kid friendly spa. The apartments also have a dryer or a backyard for hanging clothes or eating outdoors. The homes are very soundproof, so our many kids didn't bother anyone. Steve was always busy accommodating staff and making our stay pleasant. He was happy to help with anything. Call directly to book, as it helps them and you may get the same or better rate, which helps them keep up the service. The hosts are accommodating and nothing was too difficult. A few small things could be improved: some USB power boards would be useful, and the games room pool table was missing a ball. The table tennis bats could use replacing too. These were minor and could have been sorted by asking Steve, though we only played for five minutes because the pool mattered more. That's it, really. I'd definitely stay again.

The apartments are huge, and there's a small but deep pool. There's also a kids' games room, though some games cost money, and a little barbecue area. The wifi is limited to 500 MB a day.
