The place feels worn out and badly in need of a major renovation. Seeing leftover secondhand stuff for sale inside the cafe was unsettling, and the owners seemed a bit down. Maybe it was a hit with school camps back in the 80s, but I wouldn't stay here or make another stop. We dropped in for food and coffee before going to Lamington National Park. It was quiet, and the ham and cheese sandwich had frozen ham and bread, which I can understand given how remote it is. The coffee was terrible and the cake wasn't very nice either.

We were really looking forward to coffee and chips after our 16km hike, but when we got there at 3pm on Saturday, the cafe was closed. The area was very quiet and nobody was camping, so I suppose they can shut early if they want. It's a fantastic cafe when it's open. I've been before, though I can't say anything about the accommodation. Look up their monster burger, which has to be ordered days ahead and is at least 8 times bigger than a regular burger.

My family had a great time here. It's basic and there's no phone reception, so it's best to come with family or friends. I do wish the rooms had split systems, especially in winter.

Lots of books to browse and games to play, as the photos show, with plenty of places to sit. It's a lovely little spot to stop for coffee out of the way. The staff were friendly and the coffee was great. Sam was out for his first proper ride day on his new 2019 BMW HP R1250GS, which explains the huge grin on his face 😍

The shared kitchen was clean, and there are a few little nooks with fridges where you can make sandwiches. The cabins are simple, with beds and some shelves, but we were out most of the time and didn't need more. It's peaceful by a little river, and you can have a camp fire. We stayed for a couple of nights this weekend and really enjoyed it. Katy was very kind, and everything was really clean. Definitely good value for the money. Thank you for a lovely stay 😊
