The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach

We were lucky to get the last sea view room after requesting one. The staff were professional, and the underground parking had enough clearance for our Hilux. Sunny’s food was delicious and came out super fast. The rooftop bar and pool had a really nice vibe. I highly recommend this place.

The housekeeper came into my room at 9:00 am without knocking, even though checkout wasn’t until 10:00 am. That felt unacceptable and intruded on my privacy. The bathroom had the only mirror, and the lighting was too dim for doing my makeup. An extra mirror in the bedroom would have helped. For nearly $300 a night, I felt the value was poor. There were no complimentary water bottles, minibar, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers or bathrobe. It’s also quite a long walk to Redcliffe Market, which could be inconvenient. At this price, basic items like bottled water, a toothbrush and toothpaste should be included. The facilities and service didn’t feel like four-star standards, and even some cheaper motels offer better amenities. Staff asked for my personal details but didn’t provide meaningful help or follow up.

The bed was comfortable, the power points were where you needed them, and the ceiling fan, air con and good shower pressure all helped make the stay pleasant. Phone reception wasn’t great, and I wish someone had explained the wifi. It was close to everything I needed, with plenty of off-street parking.

The beach view was great, and the staff were friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed the steak, both the taste and texture were spot on, and the brownish chips were lovely. Portions were good for the price, and the beer tasted fantastic. Very satisfied with the meal. We’ll dine here again for sure!
