The place was wonderful for fishing and switching off, and we’d love to come back. We were disappointed there weren’t any walking tracks, though you can walk along the road or river. I wondered if crossing the river might be possible when it’s low. We brought all our food, wine, and water, plus toilet paper. Loo paper, hand soap, washing-up detergent, recycling bins, and other bins were provided. The oven worked well, the BBQ was fine but could probably do with an upgrade soon, and the outdoor fire pit was great. There were also COVID cleaning supplies and instructions for leaving. Getting in was a little confusing because the key instructions weren’t clear. Take the key from gate to gate and then to the hut to unlock the door, and if you’re travelling with others, meet up and drive in together since there’s only one key. Remember to return it when you leave. We had to contact National Park staff after a water pipe burst. It was -7 C overnight and the pipes froze. Luckily it was outside by the shower, so the boys could shut the water off. There was no mobile service at the hut, so we drove out to call for help. The service was fantastic: a plumber arrived late that afternoon, fixed the pipe, and we had hot showers. The drive in was good. See my pics, enjoy.
