The hotel looks nice and the staff were friendly, and they make a great coffee. Still, with the faults and limited access to facilities, it was a letdown. We were glad we’d booked just one night, and would probably have asked for a better room if we’d stayed longer. We got a free upgrade, which was kind, but the room was set up for disabled access and wasn’t great for us because of the reduced-size vanity and other things. The ironing board and shower handle were broken. The spa and sauna were out of order, and half the lifts weren’t working, so getting around took ages. There was plastic in the breakfast.

The biggest drawback was the shortage of hotel parking. Paid street parking is available, though. The rooms were spacious and clean, lobby cafe coffee and hot chocolate were nice, and the service staff were friendly and attentive.

Vajira made our stay much more pleasant with his professional manner and genuine interest in helping us have a good visit. At check-in we asked for ice in the room. The person at reception suggested getting it from the bar or calling room service once we were upstairs. Vajira overheard and offered to bring a cooler of ice up straight away. A simple request, handled with care. The rooms are very nice, and the indoor heated pool and spa were part of why we booked. Unfortunately the pool was cold, and the spa was warm but its jets didn’t work. It sounded like the jets had been broken for quite some time because of a part issue. I’m not sure why a spa person couldn’t fix it within a few days, or why the website couldn’t say the spa wasn’t fully working. The sauna was impressive and worked well, and the gym was very adequate for a hotel. We’d consider staying again if they fix those few things.

Service was perfect, and parking was available. I didn’t try the restaurant or casual bar, but I’m sure I will on my next visit. This is my new place to stay in Perth. A very nice hotel, modern, classy and clean, with spacious rooms that have everything you need. We were lucky to get a room with a great view.
