Wind Song Bed and Breakfast

The only thing that bothered us was the dirt and cobwebs on the outside of the windows, and even that wasn't a big deal. This is such a peaceful, beautiful spot in a remote setting. Our hosts were accommodating and very friendly, and we had a great chat with them. Breakfast provisions were waiting in the room. We paid extra for dinner and asked for vegetarian. The lasagne was delicious, and the garden salad with balsamic dressing was really tasty too. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Jane made our short two-night stay feel special. She has such a lovely way with people, and we hope to see her and her husband again soon. One morning, kangaroos were eating breakfast by our windows in the sunrise, a beautiful memory. Jane had also put out fresh flowers for us, which I especially loved, and prepared a picnic basket for our day trip to Maria Island. She was so sweet and attentive and made sure our family of three was comfortable. Two days and two nights felt a little short, and I'd have loved to hear more of her serendipitous stories.

Once you find the place, the unsealed road there is full of bush, wildlife, pretty birds and wallabies along the way. You can get so close to the wallabies you could almost shake hands. It's a lovely setting to relax, take photos and enjoy what's around you. My hosts had just come back from Melbourne's International Flower & Garden show and must have been exhausted, but they still cooked me a delicious three-course meal, which was an absolute bonus. The room was comfortable, with a warm bed and supplies in the fridge. Everything I needed was there.

I stayed for one night on my way to Freycinet, and would happily come back. It's super clean, the bed is comfy, and there are lots of books and sweet little touches like vases of wildflowers. Wallabies are everywhere, you could practically trip over them. The location is remote and peaceful, the hosts are kind and wonderful, and the home-cooked dinner was yummy. Dinner costs extra.
