Longford Riverside Caravan Park

The park itself was great, and the new bathrooms were fabulous. The problem was dealing with the office. We booked a couple of sites, including one paid in full with no refund, which we understood, though that couple couldn't come. We wanted the extra site for more space. Check in was complicated, and after the office lady agreed not to rebook the paid site, she did it anyway on the second night. She said the park was full, though it wasn't. She seemed unhappy in her job, made mistakes and then tried to blame everyone else. The other staff were pleasant and helpful. The check in process could be much simpler. Maybe all the money went to the new bathrooms and none to staff training? That's not good enough for such a gorgeous tourist town.

The river view in the morning was amazing, and the man in the office was really nice. The bathrooms were the best I've had while camping, brand new, practical and super clean. At $65 for four adults with a motorhome, the price seemed okay for what was provided.

A really beautiful park with good facilities, but an office staff member cancelled our booking three days before we arrived, even though we'd paid a deposit 12 months earlier. They wouldn't acknowledge the confirmation email we'd sent back then. I'd definitely keep checking on a booking after making it in future.

We were charged an extra $15 for arriving after hours, which apparently meant 4:30 pm. That wasn't listed on the website or mentioned when we called the day before. The location was convenient, but there were several permanent residents. Someone living in a tent seemed distressed and shouted and swore in the middle of the night, which left us feeling very uncomfortable. The amenities were dirty, old and poorly maintained. One of the worst caravan parks I've stayed at. A very disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend it.
