Hobart Apartments

We paid $187 for one night and I wouldn’t say the place was worth $50. There was black mould in the bathroom, the taps came off, and the air con filters were blocked with foul-looking stuff. When we pulled back the bed to reach a power point, there was what looked like a science experiment behind it. The smoke detector was wrapped in glad wrap, and the interior was appalling. They supposedly refurbished it in 2016, but it looked more like 1916. This was the dirtiest place we’ve ever stayed, and the worst of all the places we’ve stayed around Australia. I hope this helps other travellers avoid the experience we had.

Three days after I checked out, I was told the room took five hours to clean. That’s a big lie. I left it spotless, and I have four witnesses who can say so. Now, because of this lady, I’m in so much trouble with my housing worker that I can never get help with a hotel for me and my children again. Unbelievable. 😡😡

The bath was filthy, and there were marks on the wall and ripped wallpaper. There was dirt and stinky rubbish in the courtyards, cigarette butts scattered by the back entrance, and plastic on the hallway floor. It reminded me of a scene from Dexter. A real health hazard, and not worth the money.

The rates were cheap and good value for money. The room was sparse, but clean, and the lady at reception was super nice. Since we had a baby, she offered us late check-in at no cost. Pleasantly surprised!
