Peppers Blue on Blue

The unit was superb, and we were upgraded to a stunning high-floor room. Across the road were the ferry, bus, and IGA, which suited us well. Buses around the island were 50 cents on and off QLD. We chose Peppers for its location on our first visit to "Maggie" and will be back. The pools were incredibly warm, so we took a bus to Horseshoe Bay to cool off. Picnic Bay and Alma had no nets during our visit. It was very quiet in the low season, and that was about as rough as the stay got. Dinner on our first night was a hit, and lunch takeaway by the pool was great. Breakfast had a special each day, like excellent homemade baked beans with chorizo or wontons, but the choices felt a little limited. Omelettes weren’t offered, though we didn’t ask; there were fried or poached eggs, or scrambled eggs from the servery. Fresh fruit and vegetables were limited too, no avo! 😆

The staff were welcoming, kind, and very helpful throughout our two-night stay. Breakfast was included, with a good buffet selection and plenty of hot dishes. Since it was a weekday in the off-peak season, the hot buffet wasn’t running, but we could order hot dishes from a menu instead. We ate at the restaurant one evening and really enjoyed the meal. Peppers offers the island’s only fine dining option, and for our golden wedding anniversary they treated us to delicious desserts. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient as well. We were upgraded to a spacious two-bedroom apartment, tastefully and luxuriously furnished with everything needed for self-catering or a relaxing break. It had views across the marina, and the landscaped grounds and huge pool area were clean and well maintained. The resort is a short stroll from the ferry, cafes, and other places to eat. With the bus stop at the ferry terminal and $1 all-day passes taking you to the island’s most popular bays, a car isn’t necessary.

The resort’s lagoon-style pool and peaceful marina views made for a relaxing stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Some parts of the rooms could use updating, but it was still a pleasant place to stay, and we’ll be back ❤️. The location is excellent too, right beside the Nelly Bay ferry terminal, so getting onto Magnetic Island is very convenient.

We were unexpectedly upgraded to a very clean three-bedroom apartment at Peppers, in a really quiet area. Breakfast was great too. My sister held her wedding reception at the restaurant, and it was amazing. Thank you, Peppers.
