The food came out quickly even though it was busy, and our fish of the day was delicious. We got several lightly battered fillets with firm white flesh, cooked perfectly, plus a small fresh mixed salad, golden chips, and a bread roll with butter. There are plenty of usual pub menu options, including a children’s menu. The Pretoria Hotel is a standout pub in Mannum, with great river views and access, indoor and outdoor seating, and a large drinks selection. Service was excellent at both the table and bar, and a singer-guitarist kept us entertained. We thoroughly enjoyed lunch. The one concern was a $9 public holiday surcharge. It was ANZAC DAY, and that wasn’t a public holiday.

We’ve been here before and like the atmosphere, but the food has been average each time. Today’s lamb yiros was disappointing: the bread was like cardboard, the lamb dry, and the cucumbers old. The burgers were nice and the beef Schnitzel was ok, but I wouldn’t rave about the food.

The pork roast of the day was awesome, and so was the grilled mullet. Both came in large servings. It’s a relaxing place overlooking the Murray River, with a lovely grassy outdoor area and friendly staff. Dogs are welcome too. All day dining is great here, and I highly recommend it.

A great river pub, with the centre of town out front and green grass leading down to the river at the back. The new heated seating outside is a big win, and the food never misses.

The beef snitty and caesar salad were amazing, and the food was top notch. But an hour later, everyone else at the table had eaten and I was still waiting for my salad. We asked four staff members about it over 30 minutes and got no answers. There wasn’t one smile from anyone while we ordered food or drinks. There’s so much potential, and I’d come back for the amazing food in the hope the service is better. Thanks for having us.
