Lillyponds park is right next door, and the bus comes through four times a day. It's on time and air conditioned. Shops and services are easy to reach on foot, including the bakery, medical center, coffee shop, chemist, and a few boutiques, with IGA and BP petrol nearby too. This is a quiet home park with permanent cabins and a few caravans, rather than a holiday camping spot. Many residents are retired.

Residents have raised three complaints through an action committee, and council departments and state authorities are investigating all of them. They concern an Irish flag flying above our Australian flag, which council is investigating, effluent problems and poor plumbing across both the mobile home area and planned over 55 complex, and very poor rubbish facilities for landfill, recycling, and garden waste. Poor welcome.

A real letdown. The shower was coming apart and leaking into the room, and when I switched on the exhaust fan, something black fell into the shower base. The mugs still had rings inside, the frypan was greasy so I didn't use it, and there seemed to be mould on the pipes under the basin, as if it had been sealed over. The light covers were dirty and the towels stained. Very disappointing.

I booked for two nights but left after 30 minutes because I felt uneasy about the very large dog, maybe a great dane, in the attached cabin next door. Its senior owner seemed to be struggling with it, and I was worried for myself and my dog. I asked for a partial refund, but was refused, so the 30-minute stay cost me $270. I regret paying over the phone, as I might have been able to get some or all of it back through booking.com. The advertising called this a holiday park, though to me it was a home park. The $120-a-night cabin looked standalone in the photos but was actually attached. I called about bringing my miniature spoodle, who doesn't shed, as requested in a booking.com question. They asked for an extra $30, despite the ad saying “pets stay free.” During that same call, they took payment for the stay.

We stayed for a month and had a lovely time. The sites are generous in size and very green, with loads of lovely birds around. The park is beautiful and quiet, and the amenities were always clean. Staff were super friendly, and the price felt well worth it without being expensive. Thanks for having us :-)
