We would not stay here again or recommend it. The whole experience was uncomfortable and badly managed. When we checked in, the rooms were unbearably hot. The ceiling fans barely turned and moved no air. We tried closing the curtains to keep the heat out, only to find they’d been screwed in place so they couldn’t shut, leaving the rooms to trap heat all afternoon. We called reception straight away and were told they’d “work on a solution.” The hotel was full, so changing rooms wasn’t an option. After three hours without an update, we called again. Another staff member said he could cancel our booking because there was “nothing they could do.” We’d already checked in and paid, so that wasn’t an acceptable answer. After we insisted he come see the room, he agreed it was extremely hot and returned with two small desk fans and a smaller pedestal fan that didn’t even rotate. They did nothing to cool the space. At 2am we woke drenched in sweat and had to sleep in the lounge in front of the air conditioning. There were basic supply and cleanliness problems as well. The spare bathroom drain was clogged with dark hair, and there was no extra toilet paper, garbage bags or dish cloths. Office hours are closed all weekend, making it incredibly difficult to get help. The property seems to have mostly permanent residents, and we weren’t even given our designated car park.

The location was great, and we enjoyed the facilities. We stayed in Room 120, a three-bedroom place with a rooftop. The room was smaller than the ads made it look, there was no Wi-Fi as advertised, and we didn’t get extra towels. There were no staff over the weekend to help sort out issues, and when I opened the window, the fly screen fell out and dropped six stories.

The resort grounds and facilities were well kept, with easy access to the beach and walking path. That’s why I’m giving it three stars. We booked Unit 118 and requested a porta cot for our six-month-old daughter, but there wasn’t one in the room. My husband asked reception and was told the resort didn’t have any at all, so we made a makeshift bed for her with a couch cushion and the cot sheet we’d brought. The unit was tidy but tired. The couch was broken and faded, the carpets were pulled and stained, the balcony screen doors didn’t latch properly, and the fly screens were loose. The master bedroom light didn’t work. The board games were torn and had lots of missing pieces. The oven overheated and switched itself off, and its knobs and nearby surfaces got extremely hot. The washing machine stopped during cycles a few times, so we had to restart it. On the last night, power went out to half the unit, including the washer, dryer and bedroom and bathroom outlets. We turned everything off at the walls to try to find what was tripping the safety switch, but couldn’t find the problem. Since the power went out after we’d gone to bed, the fridge was off for several hours and some food spoiled. Reception was closed for the weekend, and we couldn’t reach anyone at the number provided.

Management accommodated us and gave a partial refund, but shouldn’t they be holding the unit owners and cleaners to a standard worthy of a four-star hotel? Rm 123 was uncomfortable and dirty, with furniture in disrepair or completely unusable. So many dishes, cups and utensils still had food stuck to them, even though they’d been put away in cupboards and drawers ready to use. The refrigerator was new, so someone had acted on a review from eight months earlier, but the furniture was still disgraceful.

A good spot for a rest and a break, with a pool, sauna and spa. Being close to the beach makes it really nice.
