Vintages Accommodation

The accommodation is very central, though the walk up the hill to the village is worth knowing about. Our room felt clean and fresh, with a modern en suite and shower where everything worked. Pleasant, good value, and we’d book it again.

Room #12 was quite small, and we had no privacy at all during our three-night stay. Its window looks onto a shared patio, directly opposite another room’s entrance, so we couldn’t open the curtain and the room stayed pretty dim. There were no toiletries apart from a combined body wash and shampoo. This is absolutely not a 4 stars hotel as listed on Google maps, and it was extremely overpriced.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and well located, but very poorly managed. There’s no reception or staff on site, and everything is handled remotely. That makes it easy for management to avoid responsibility when serious problems come up. On December 25th, when it was 42°C, we came back at 1 pm to find there was no power or water. The hotel relies on an electric pump, and we were left without either for 10 hours, despite paying $270 per night. We asked the manager to cancel our last night. He said it wasn’t his problem, offered no refund or compensation, then hung up and stopped responding. No on-site staff, no reception, everything remote. Fine when things work, terrible when they don’t. Not recommended.

The bed was comfortable, and the location is excellent, but the room felt dated and looked nothing like the photos. We stayed two nights and found several issues: neither bedside lamp worked, the bathroom sink spout was loose, and the little round table wobbled until I fixed it by turning one foot's adjuster. The supplied body wash, shampoo and conditioner combo wasn't good, so we bought our own. The heater wasn't warming the room when we arrived on a very cold day. Staff eventually changed the remote batteries and it worked well, after I showed him how to replace them while he was about to take the remote apart.
