Villa Howden

The tower room felt like something from a movie, and the grounds were immaculate. Everything about the stay was first class, from the quiet, peaceful atmosphere to the fantastic staff. Thanks so much for making our visit so special. We’ll be back again and again. See you soon.

We had a great stay at Villa Howden from 27 December 2025 to 1 January 2026. The room was comfortable, well kept and very clean, and the view was stunning. The peaceful setting was beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Room service and laundry were both excellent. Breakfast was the one letdown, as a broader choice would have been nice. Even so, we’d happily recommend Villa Howden.

The phone number was busy for days before our reservation and throughout our stay, and that was our main problem. The electrical testing and tagging was also six months overdue. The place is gorgeous, though a little tired, and makes a lovely alternative to somewhere more modern. Our room had huge ceilings, lots of natural light and plenty of space. The shared areas were spacious too, and the staff were keen to help with anything we needed. Some reviews on other platforms are much less complimentary. Their evisceration of the property can be entertaining, and the criticisms are certainly valid.

The location is beautiful and the building has so much potential, but our deluxe villa suite with water view needed a proper clean. There were stains and dust, and the room needs refreshing. It didn’t feel like the advertised five-star standard. Too expensive, and the service needs professional staff rather than basic service.
