A Twist of Willow

We had a comfortable three-night stay in the cottage with my family, including our two grandkids. It was well furnished, with comfy beds and the other amenities we needed. The place has its own mini zoo, and Loo and Steve were passionate about running it and personally looked after our needs. The nocturnal tour gave both adults and kids an interesting look at animal behaviour at night. If you get the chance to stay here, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the unique experience.

We stumbled on this place by chance and loved it. Our spacious king room had a spa, heating and a little kitchen area with appliances. Loo and Steve were kind and knowledgeable hosts. Since we missed the afternoon feeding, they came to our door and took us to meet the nocturnal animals at night. It was a relaxing stay with a different feel, and the animals are well looked after. Watching them at night on the TV in the room was such a great idea. Breakfast was generous for a one-night stay. A lovely cosy getaway.

A fantastic find and one of the highlights of our Yarra trip. We got to pet kangaroos and went on the incredible nocturnal tour at the mount Evelyn zoo. The B&B owners run the attached zoo, so you really do get to stay at a zoo. It was fun, comfortable and very clean, and our room had an amazing jacuzzi. Strongly recommend. If it’s available and you’re deciding, just book it.

The outdoor pool and chance to explore the property were a hit with the kids, and we all enjoyed the comfortable beds and bathrooms with great shower pressure. Steve and Loo were fantastic hosts, even with so many of us there for the weekend. They’re passionate about wildlife, and Steve took the kids on a dusk feeding tour where they fed a wombat, sugar gliders, owls and other birds. It was educational and fun. CCTV in all the cabins let us watch the nocturnal animals in their habitat at night, and Steve even stopped by our BBQ dinner with his pet Python, which the kids loved. The outdoor BBQ kitchen, fireplace, dining table, TV and lounge suites made a great spot for everyone to eat and have a few drinks. Highly recommend Twist of Willow for a farm stay and zoo experience.
