It's a lovely, very clean beach with beautiful sunsets, good for a family day out or just a quiet walk or swim in the bay. There's a sandbar about 5 metres out, depending on the tide, so adults may only get wet to around their knees. If you live nearby, the surf Life saving club runs activities for all ages, teaching little ones to swim and enjoy the beach. Very family friendly.

Soft white sand, clear clean water, and no seaweed when I visited. It's the best beach I've been to in a long time, with food shops nearby on the main street. Parking is the worst, though that's expected on a hot summer day in December. You won't be disappointed.

It's a great place to socialize dogs. I just wish it were off leash all year round. Dogs are restricted to certain times and places, and as owners it's in our interest to keep the beach clean. Humans make more of a mess there than dogs. People who dislike or are afraid of dogs don't make us feel welcome. We're allowed there during the posted times, while people can be there anytime. If dogs really offend you, maybe come at a different time, since we can't.
