The location was great, and the bed was comfortable. The shower was good too. The pub and rooms feel dated. With the TV off, its bright white light still lit up the room, and the wifi access point had a bright blue light. The food was hit and miss: the grilled fish was nice, but the roast pork was completely inedible.

The rooms are basic and could use a revamp, though they’re perfectly reasonable for the price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I needed stable internet for an online course, and the connection was fantastic. I was so impressed that I extended my stay.

The lovely, helpful reception staff and a clean room made my short break pleasant. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I was glad there were facilities to make drinks. I was also impressed by the very good food and drink at the Bistro. The Burvale hotel itself is a little tired in its decor, and I wouldn’t call the surroundings especially beautiful. I’m not keen on the amusement arcade either, though it seemed popular.

I had a memorable Xmas day 2025 lunch at the Burvale Hotel with my son's family, and I’ll be back next year without a doubt. The buffet was plentiful and delightful, including seafood, and just kept coming. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were happy, courteous and very helpful. I chatted with several other patrons who felt the same way. Thanks to the staff and management. I spent plenty of time at the Burvale Hotel in my early days, and it was great then and still is now.

Mathew, the manager, was lovely and accommodating. My friends and I had dinner, listened to the live band, and had a beautiful night. I’d recommend coming for dinner and a drink if you’re in the area. 🫶
