City Tempo – Collection

The apartment was quite nice, but the lifts were a real problem during my four-week stay. There are three for a 39-floor building, and at least one was out of service the whole time. When everyone returned from work or dinner together, the wait felt like a lifetime. I also found bedbugs in my first unit, on a freshly made bed. I know these things can happen when travelling, but it was upsetting. Work had booked the stay, so unfortunately I didn't have much choice.

We hadn't paid extra for a view or a higher floor, and had booked a twin apartment with one bathroom. They upgraded us to a higher-floor twin with two bathrooms and a bay view. The place was spotless and had everything needed for a city stay. The service was incredibly good too!

The apartments are roomy and well equipped, and the higher floors have nice views. Still, a few things made the stay harder than it needed to be. The check-in details could be much clearer: the address on the booking wasn't necessarily where we would stay. We arrived from the airport with three large bags at the wrong address, then had to check in and walk a couple of blocks to our actual place with all that luggage. The staff didn't seem pleasant or happy to be there, and didn't seem to care when we asked why check-in was at a different location. That was a major inconvenience with so many bags. The toilet also had no lock. It wasn't a big problem for us as a couple, but could be a concern for others.

The place was average, and management was absolutely disgraceful. After travelling nearly four hours for what I hoped would be a fun weekend, I was told at check-in they would put a $500 hold on my card and release it after checkout. I had seen nothing about this in the terms and conditions for the one-bedroom apartment I booked, only for three-bedroom bookings. I was left with practically no spending money for the weekend. Four nights after checking out, they're still holding the $500. I contacted them by email, and now they've stopped responding altogether. I'd never stay here again.
