Check-in was at a different property, but it wasn't too difficult. The location was fantastic, and the locked gates made the place feel secure. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed and a great shower. The coffee machine was a nice touch, and everything we needed was supplied. We didn't hear any traffic noise.

The location was good, but that was about the only positive. The bed was reasonably comfortable, though the pillows were terrible quality. The room wasn't clean, with visible dust built up on many surfaces. The safe was locked, the room phone didn't work, and the ironing board cover was ruined. Reception said they'd sort all three after I contacted them, but nothing was fixed. I felt like a nuisance for calling. I'd been corresponding with the property before my late October Melbourne trip, but check-in was still a mission. The staff member seemed very disinterested, and I had to prompt them to look at the notes. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I stayed one night. They asked for a $300 deposit, more than the night's room cost. I did get it back, but that's beside the point. The Mantra, Quest, and Ibis chains don't even do this. Check-in and key pickup were at a different location. If you don't have a car, that's incredibly inconvenient, regardless of any warning. I wonder whether people are told this before booking and paying. If not, it could be deceptive. The actual property's reception office was unattended, while three staff at the receiving reception were just chatting. Why not send one of them over? Is it really so hard? In hospitality, the focus should be on making stays easy and enjoyable for paying guests. Maybe that would prevent so many of these one-star reviews and the need for damage control. Readers can make their own choice.

I called in the morning and was told check-in was available 24 hours, then arrived at night to find reception was at a different location 20 minutes away. The system is ridiculous. The place itself was a disgusting motel facing the parking lot, with tiny rooms, stained furniture and carpets, and mould in the bathroom. I'd never stay there again.

The room was clean and had plenty of supplies, but the whole stay felt a bit awkward. We only chose it because it was near where we needed to go. Having to check in somewhere else was inconvenient, and the $300 deposit hold is ridiculous. When I went to pay the remaining balance, reception quoted more than the lower amount shown in my email. I pointed it out and she changed it to match, so I might have been charged extra if I hadn't checked. One evening at 5pm, someone from room service let themselves into our room to ask whether we'd extended our stay. We hadn't, and had always booked two nights. They said sorry and left. The executive room also didn't look like the online photos, which showed a kitchenette and sink. I'd stay again if I had to, but it wasn't a great experience.
