Glenn welcomed us warmly and was a lovely, kind manager. The hotel felt peaceful, right in the heart of nature, and was clean with updated furniture. I loved all the artwork featuring Australian native animals. It was a perfect place to stay after a wedding.

I left feeling misled and taken advantage of. At $240 a night, especially at long-weekend prices, I expected a lot more. This did not feel like a 4 star hotel, and I’d have been happy paying half as much. The photos look nice online, and maybe some rooms are better, but the place felt like the owners had cut costs while charging a premium. The remote controllers were wrapped in glad wrap, there were only two towels and one had holes, with no hand towels. The soap was Coles brand and the shampoo cheap. Screws stuck out of the wall, and the flat pack furniture still had stickers on it. The kitchenette listed was just a microwave, toaster, kettle and five teabags, plus instant coffee. The supposed forest view was more of a view of someone's granny flat. There were no complimentary goodies. All of this added to the cheap feel.

We loved our stay in the Honeysuckle Spa Suite. The views were beautiful, and there were wild rabbits and cute little sparrows to watch. The place was very clean and enjoyable, and we loved the heated blankets. Glenn made our anniversary weekend special with two free wine tasting vouchers for a local vineyard and a box of chocolates. He’s amazing. We’ll be back.

We came here after storms in Healesville caused power outages. There was no power when we arrived the first night, but Glenn managed to get electricity going so we could use the hot water and charge our phones. Power came back overnight, but he still went above and beyond. The room was excellent and the bed super comfortable. Great location, just a short drive from Healesville's main street.

The manager was a lovely, friendly and kind guy, but the price we paid for two nights did not match the service. We had booked and paid for a room, only to be told it had been given to another couple. We accepted an offer to move to the Luxury room for an extra $50. The room itself was nice, but there were no extras for a stay costing over $500. The window ledges were dusty, and the tank water looked yellow-green in the spa. It flowed so slowly that filling the bath took about 30 minutes or more. We got just two standard towels and had to dry them by the fire to reuse them. There were no face or hand towels, or even a tea towel for the dishes. The toiletries were already opened and partly used: half a bottle of Pamolive Shampoo, half a pump bottle of Body Wash, and a tiny round soap. The five Nestle coffee sachets were out of date, there was enough raw sugar for four coffees, one 300ml Devondale milk, and two 250ml Coles brand orange juice boxes. No tea, Milo, wine or other drinks were stocked, and we replaced the milk we used. No bathrobes, slippers, candles or romantic mood decor either. We didn't get a room key until midday Saturday, so we couldn't lock the door overnight or when we went sightseeing in the morning.
