Easystay Studio Apartments

The apartment had plenty of space for our luggage, a roomy layout, and a big, beautiful bed with soft pillows. The shower was a good size, with enough bathroom shelving for toiletries. It was well placed for us, near everything we needed, and we even caught Puffs at the Alex Theatre just down the road on Fitzroy Street. Parking was included, wifi was available, and getting in was easy, with quick check-in and checkout. We loved the hot chocolate, and thanks to the cleaning staff for tidying our room each night.

The rooms themselves were fine for what they are, but don't expect a good night's sleep: the bed felt like bricks, and the thin single-pane windows let in noise all night. Check-in was a hassle too. There's no check-in desk in the building, so you have to go 1.3 km to a partner hotel, and third-party bookings don't mention that. When we called on arrival, Ray answered and was extremely rude, basically telling us tough luck, we'd have to walk, then hanging up. What a dump, though I suppose you get what you pay for.

We stayed at Easystay Studio Apartments for three days while my partner attended a conference in Melbourne City over the weekend. It was convenient and felt safe, close to a tram stop, cafes, shops, and the St Kilda Pier. The accommodation was nice and the service friendly.

They let us check in early, and since we'd booked a week, they upgraded us to a bigger apartment with a proper kitchen. It was a little farther away, though still within walking distance of the shops. Accommodation across Australia is overpriced, but for what we paid, this place was quite dirty. Someone came each day to empty the bins and replace towels, yet there was mould on the bathroom ceiling, dirty blinds, and sticky cupboard handles. Those things would be easy to clean.
