The kitchen has plenty of cockroaches, and only one burner on the stove works. The beds seem to be keeping the bed bugs well fed, too. Service was basically absent, apart from rules being enforced heavily, which made an already creepy place feel even less welcoming. There’s also a strange garden gnome type guy at reception who’s extra creepy if you dare lock your doors. Somewhere between Corrections Victoria and Fawlty Towers.

Just a basic place. The rooms were clean and had tea and coffee facilities, the staff were polite, and it’s close to the station.

I’ve stayed here five times now, and I’ll come back next time I’m in town. The room and en suite were clean and spacious, with cold aircon and plenty of hot water. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and it’s only about a five minute walk to shops and public transport.

For five nights I stayed in room nine at Evan Court. It was clean and comfortable, and handy for the toilet, bathroom and kitchenette. Management were helpful and attentive. Supermarkets, bus stops and the gym I belong to are all a short walk away. I was glad to find somewhere at a very competitive budget price where I could watch the Australian Open. 🙂

The rooms are good as gold, and the staff are fair and reasonable. The Manager has been patient and accommodating. Costs are low and reasonable, especially with utilities getting more expensive. Places like this manage well with what they have, and more Government funding should go here. Strong recommendation for funding that could make a real difference in curing homelessness. 👍
