The location is fantastic for visiting St Kilda, and the value was amazing. We paid for a budget room, but were given room 11 in the rear annex. It was huge and absolutely immaculate, with a kitchenette, fridge, and microwave. The bed, bathroom, furniture, carpets, TV, and everything else were brand new. It had clearly just been renovated, so it felt like a new hotel. We'd stayed here a few years ago and expected it to be good, but this visit was even better than expected. The $150 security bond at arrival caught us by surprise, though it was returned very promptly after we left. Highly recommend!

Don't book here. The photos are misleading, and renovations were going on, so it was dusty, noisy, and felt unsafe. The owner promised a refund but didn't provide it through booking.com.

I rarely leave reviews. Usually if a business has a difficult moment, I put it down to a bad day and move on. This place was unbelievable. We paid for parking, then the girl on the property said she'd lost the gate key. The owner blamed booking.com and said a refund wasn't his problem because booking.com had the money. That gate was one of just two main ways out to the street in case of fire. We ended up leaving and didn't stay overnight in Melbourne. Service was nonexistent, and I consider this a fire safety risk. Don't stay here.

It was hard to sleep with the streetlights shining in. The windows really needed blackout curtains, because it felt like daylight. The TV and air conditioner remotes were unreliable, and the freezer was so iced up that our ice packs for lunch wouldn't fit.

The owners were so kind and helpful, and check-in was a breeze. The rooms and amenities were lovely too. What an amazing stay in a beautiful part of Melbourne. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay ⭐️
