@Anthony Beor, is your issue with Boutique Stays or with the Fawkner Residences? This is a private residential building, with owner occupiers and residential tenants, not a commercial hotel or serviced apartments. Short stays get limited service. If your expectations are high and you’re critical, stay in a hotel.

I had a terrible experience and will never book with Boutique Stays again. I booked three nights at Boutique Stays - The Fawkner, but had to cancel because of the COVID situation in Melbourne and the WA government’s border control announcement. I couldn’t afford to self-quarantine for 14 days. Virgin Australia gave me a full refund regardless of ticket type or class, but Boutique Stays refused to refund the full amount and said its terms and conditions only allowed a 50% refund. They suggested I could still travel to Melbourne despite the restrictions, then get a COVID test on my return to Perth and skip self-quarantine if it was negative. They showed no compassion for me or my family, and didn’t seem concerned about the situation in Melbourne or my safety. I strongly suggest considering other options before booking with Boutique Stays.

The apartment was secure and very clean, and we had a lovely stay. It did get a bit noisy at night from St Kilda road.

The bedrooms felt too small to me, but the newly refurbished complex is expansive, well done and has great views.
