The location worked really well for our long weekend in Melbourne, about a 10-minute drive from just about everywhere we needed to go. But the room felt old and badly maintained, and its dusty smell had us all sneezing. We all ended up with a head cold. The carpet looked and felt dirty, and there were lots of little things that showed a lack of attention: lights had no bulbs, so I asked for two and fitted them myself, and the towel rail kept falling off, so I fixed it too. We had to buy toilet paper despite spare rolls being mentioned when booking. The three-person room had seats for only two. The fridge needed defrosting, and I had to wipe up spills and stains that weren't ours. The microwave had splatters, and the toiletries supplied for three people for three nights amounted to two small hand soaps and one tiny shampoo and body wash set. There were plates, cups, knives and forks but no detergent or cloths or sponges for washing up.

I needed an accessible room at a reasonable price and was having trouble finding one, so the Glen Inn was a great find. The ground-level disability room meant I could get from the room to reception and out to local bars, eateries and shopping centres without dealing with stairs or elevators. Staff got me checked in and into my room quickly, which made the whole arrival easy for me in my wheelchair. The rooms are great and the prices amazing. I highly recommend it.

Being right by a shopping centre and within walking distance of KFC made everyday errands easier and less stressful. Glen Inn was a really positive stay, especially because of Bailey. He was kind, respectful and genuinely accommodating, and made a stressful situation much easier. We felt welcomed, not judged, and really appreciated the care and flexibility.

The booking was easy, the rooms use PIN codes, and someone was at reception when we arrived at 10pm. Customer service was nice and the price was reasonable, so it did the job for a night. The area felt a little bit ‘how ya going’, and police were there at 3am. Our old room smelled of cigarettes when we arrived, the shower head leaked, the towels were stained, and smoke smell coming through the air con meant we couldn't use it. The toilet roll holder kept falling off too. A passable, very much ‘3 star’ motel.

We came twice for sporting events, and the place is handy to Melbourne on weekends with plenty of services nearby. The rooms were adequate, with a microwave, toaster, jug, tea and coffee stuff, and a fridge. Still, four nights there and we never got a decent night's sleep. The beds felt like wooden blocks, the pillows were hard and heavy, and even the chairs were uncomfortable. Kids jumping on the top floor made it sound like the roof might cave in, motorbikes came and went, and things switching on in other rooms vibrated our windows. We even had a minibus load of people yapping until 6am, then got 30 minutes of peace before we had to get up. It's cheap, so you get what you pay for. Fine for one night, and I'd stay again if I had to.
