Lovely place, and I really liked the interior. The food was very nice too, especially the steak, which my partner, an ex chef, really enjoyed. Service was the letdown. It wasn’t busy, with about 3 other tables when we arrived, but we waited what felt like nearly 30mins just for someone to take our drinks order. People who came in after us got their drinks and meals first. They could do a much better job keeping track of which table is next. We’ll come back when we travel to healsville.

We went for lunch today with my family on the long weekend, so I understand they were busy. Still, it would’ve been good to know our food would take an hour. When it arrived, it was cold as, and the burger wasn’t even cooked. The rest of the food wasn’t very nice either.

One of the staff went out of their way to drive us back to the Big4 Caravan Park in their own car when we couldn’t get an Uber. That’s service above and beyond. Everyone was incredibly friendly and smiley, and the food was served perfectly. You can tell they care about customers. Absolute legends at the Healesville Hotel. We’ll definitely be back.

We booked the space for 11 on a Sunday morning for a wedding party, but found out the pub didn’t open until 12. They should have been better prepared for the booking. The only food option was cold egg paninies, and coffee took an hour. With so few choices, several of us went down the street for a proper hot breakfast. Very disappointing.

The food was better than we expected. The Porterhouse got 7/10 for tenderness and 10/10 for execution and flavour. My Thai wife loved the whole whole trout.
