Fern Bar cocktails were delicious, especially the Mandarin Lemon Drop. We’re already thinking about coming back for dinner in the winter igloos in Fern’s Garden, which looked amazing. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had, with a really impressive range of fresh, delicious food, beautifully presented in the spacious restaurant. Our room was spacious, modern, spotless and well presented, with very comfortable pillows and a bed. It was good to know a choice of pillows is available on request. The bathroom and vanity were clean, the robes were a nice touch, and we appreciated the stocked mini bar and coffee machine with a good pod selection. The hotel’s modern, stylish design carries its Indigo theme throughout and has plenty of personality. We stayed for one weekend night at Hotel Indigo on Little Collins St in Melbourne. The welcome was warm and check-in was easy. Its Little Collins Street location puts it in the heart of Melbournes CBD. The stay exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it.

I walked out to David Jones, then through Emporium Mall and on to Melbourne Central Mall. The hotel is right in the center of everything. My room was large and cleaned to a high standard each day, and both the Level 2 Restaurant and room service were outstanding. All the food I tried was beautifully prepared and tasted amazing. The restaurant wait staff were kind and helpful with gluten free options for my coeliac needs. The bartender made great mocktails, and I appreciated everyone’s extra effort to make things easy for me. Service, staff and accommodation were a 10 out of 10. A fabulous stay, a little slice of heaven in the center of Melbourne CBD. I’d highly recommend it and will be back.

We felt well looked after by the genuinely friendly staff, and the service was warm and attentive. The cocktails were impressive and went perfectly with the meal. At Fern Bar & Dining, the food was outstanding, fresh, creative and full of flavour, with each dish presented beautifully and prepared with care. The interior is stylish and sophisticated while still relaxed and welcoming. A hidden gem in Melbourne, definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back.

The atmosphere is relaxed and engaging, and the range and taste of the food were pleasantly overwhelming. It’s brilliantly located, central to everything yet cleverly hidden away. This hidden gem has what you need and more, with outstanding service. A great place to enjoy the heart of Melbourne.

We travel widely and rarely leave reviews, but this stay deserves to be called out. From arrival, the Hotel seemed poorly run. For a property claiming high standards, things felt disorganised and unprofessional, with little accountability. The housekeeping was poor, and there were maintenance problems that shouldn’t exist in a supposedly premium Hotel. Some staff seemed undertrained or unsupported. Simple requests were ignored by staff and Management, communication between departments was missing, and problems were passed around instead of resolved. The General Manager did not contact us when we asked. There was no real sense of responsibility or concern for the guest experience. Complaints seemed to be treated as an inconvenience, and there was a culture of deflection and damage control. Staff morale appeared low and service inconsistent, which isn’t surprising if that’s the tone set by leadership. The restaurant was disappointing too, with overpriced, poor quality food, slow service and basic mistakes. The Hotel seemed more focused on appearance and marketing than hospitality. For the price, guests deserve much better than poor management, excuses and substandard operations. This wasn’t a luxury experience, just a frustrating lesson in how quickly a Hotel can decline without leadership, accountability and attention to detail. As a company whose staff stay at hotels worldwide, we would not stay here again. I’ve put this Hotel on our company DO NOT STAY HERE list for staff and families, and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere until management makes serious changes. A copy of this review will go to Head Office. In response to Management’s reply to my review: a generic apology and defensive explanation don’t change that the experience fell well below what you expect from a supposedly premium hotel. The maintenance, housekeeping and management problems continued throughout our stay. Guests leave reviews to give honest feedback, not to receive carefully worded damage control. Instead of protecting the hotel’s image, management should address the operational problems and staff training issues that continue to affect the guest experience. Your reply only confirms that hotel management and the experience are well below standard.
