Lifestyle Apartments at Ferntree

We were three adults and two kids, and the large rooms worked well for all of us. The sofa pulls out into a bed for one more person, and the beds were super comfortable. It felt like a home away from home. The appliances were convenient too, with a washer, dryer, kettle and toaster. The location was very good, with 7/11 right across the street, Aldi around the corner and three large parks near the apartments for the kids. The staff were lovely and always friendly.

We first came across this family-run business several years ago on a Melbourne trip and have stayed here every time we’ve returned. Having a washer and dryer is handy while travelling, so there’s no need to find a laundromat. There’s also a kitchenette in the room and grocery stores nearby, which means you don’t have to eat out every time. It’s outside the city centre, but close enough to the main highways for getting around.

The sofa was a real highlight for us. With my son, parents and sister in a two-bedroom apartment, we could all sit together instead of splitting up onto dining chairs. We stayed over Easter, and the after-hours check-in was easy. Parking was good too, uncovered but easy to find whenever we got back. I didn’t see a lift, though I hadn’t asked about one and it wasn’t a problem for us. If accessibility matters, it may be worth asking for a downstairs apartment. The place is outside the city but close to shops and dining, and booking directly through the office or website was very easy. We had a great stay and will definitely be back.

The apartment was a great fit for our family or group, with plenty of comfort and practical touches. Our group of 10 booked two rooms at Lifestyle @Ferntree through Booking.com for a road trip on 27 December 2024. The booking was simple, and although we arrived after office hours, one quick call to reception got us checked in smoothly. The receptionist was polite and accommodating. I was surprised by how spacious and clean the living area was, and the amenities were well equipped. There was a washing machine and dryer, a dishwasher for anyone cooking, and an extra bed tucked inside a cabinet. The location was affordable and convenient for getting to the Puffing Billy train ride. We only booked one night, though, and I regret not having time to visit Puffing Billy. There weren’t any tickets available to book during our stay.
