Mantra on Jolimont

The location worked really well for us, with easy parking and no steps between the car and the lift, which helped with my elderly mother. Inside, the dual-key apartment had a lovely dining area, a practical kitchen and a good-sized fridge. The sofa and lounge chairs were very comfortable, and the king room’s kitchenette was a welcome surprise, with extra fridge space and a spot to make an early coffee. There was plenty of shelf space in the large bathrooms, plus fluffy towels, and the Juliet balcony let in fresh air. We’d definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

The staff made a real difference, staying friendly, attentive and helpful throughout. As an Accor Gold member, I was pleased to be recognised at check-in and upgraded from the studio I’d booked to a one-bedroom apartment. Welcome drinks and a small gift were waiting in the room too. I’d booked at a very low sale price after my plans changed and I needed somewhere in Melbourne for one night, so those extras felt like great value. The room was clean and well presented. The property is clearly older, but it’s been maintained well. Breakfast was included and fairly basic, with limited choice, though it was acceptable for the price. The dining space is small and could feel cramped when busy. A solid choice for a short Melbourne stay, especially if you value friendly service and recognition of Accor loyalty.

The staff were friendly and helpful, a real credit to the property. The room was spotless, though a little dated. We only found two pillows for the queen bed and none more in the room, which seemed unusual, so we used cushions from the couch. It’s a perfect location for events at the MCG, Rod Laver and nearby venues. We’ll stay here again when we’re back in Melbourne for something in the precinct.

We got to the hotel around 7:30 in the morning, having asked two weeks earlier for an early check-in. We knew it might be too soon, but the team had noted the request and were happy to let us in. They also upgraded our room. That kindness really helped, since we had an important court appearance and needed time to freshen up beforehand. I don’t often write reviews, but the service at Mantra on Jolimont deserves recognition. Thank you to the team for making us feel so welcome.
