The staff were great, the location was great and the rooms were clean, but the bed was terrible and the facilities were poor. Lots of small things felt below standard: the bathroom door struggled to shut, there weren't enough cleaning supplies for a room with a kitchenette, and the hob had been used so much that the markings showing what the knobs did had worn away.

The shower had good pressure and heat, the location was ideal, and everyone seemed lovely, though we didn't use any particular services. The restaurant also seemed to be permanently closed. I'd still give service four stars, since the people we met were so nice. Our view was a plain wall, but that didn't bother us. The room, and perhaps the rest of the hotel too, could use a tidy-up. There was a rusty item, a curtain stain and a TV we couldn't get to work. Those details brought the place down a few notches, even though it did the job.

The location is decent, with trams down the road and Vic market across the street, but the place could use a fresh coat of paint and a facelift. The rooms were clean and service was good, though they felt a bit worn and uncomfortable. The beds were firm and not all that comfortable, and there are only a few room types. Dining and other amenities were out of service when I wrote this.

The Wi-Fi was awful throughout my few nights here, even though the room itself was decent, clean, had a small kitchenette, and housekeeping was okay. I'm a network engineer, and the setup seems broken. The signal was strong, but the connection kept dropping or timing out. Sometimes my laptop couldn't get a valid IP address and assigned itself an automatic 169.x.x.x address, which points to a DHCP server problem. When I told reception, they brushed me off with “nobody else has complained.” That doesn't make the problem go away just because other guests didn't notice or report it. In 2025, dependable Wi-Fi should be standard in a hotel serving travelers and business guests. If you need stable internet, I'd strongly suggest staying somewhere else.
