Nightcap at Sandbelt Hotel

We booked two rooms for three days, and it was a good, quiet stay for my family. There’s an attached pub and gaming area, which my son loved. They also have lots of food deals, and I especially enjoyed the seafood platter. Thanks, we’ll visit again next month 😄

The food was really tasty, especially the parma, fish and chips, and pork belly bites. Room service was great too, and I’d highly recommend it. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially manager Nick. Thank you, we’ll come back :)

Alyssa was a lovely, welcoming and efficient young woman who helped us get extra towels and water. The room had space for both our suitcases, and they offered complimentary bottled water, canned lemonade and Coca-Cola. The bathroom was compact but nice, with a soft bed and lovely linen. Parking right outside the room was handy, as was the DFO shopping centre nearby. We had a very good experience and would stay again.

Despite the dated exterior, the rooms inside were modern and comfortable, and every staff member greeted me cheerfully and went out of their way to help. One person in the tavern even made sure I had what I needed in my room, though it’s in a separate part of the complex. There’s also a relaxed shared outdoor seating area for smokers. The adjacent Sandbelt Hotel adds a bistro, sports tavern, pokies room and function room, though the carpet in that room is very worn. Getting here by public transport is the main drawback. You need to take a bus from the train stations, which isn’t convenient with luggage.
