I stayed here on 10/01/26 and wouldn’t recommend it. I checked in online expecting to collect the keys and head to my room, but waited 40 minutes for reception to come back. The other staff said only managers could check guests in and the assistant manager was in a meeting. Surely a Nightcaps venue should have more than one person able to check people in. The room looked clean at first, but the bathroom was old and there was mould in the shower grout. The towels were thin and worn. I called reception later that night to ask for three extra towels because ours were wet after showering, and I’m still waiting for them. We ate at the bistro downstairs. The food was average and my lamb cutlets were burnt. The bartender was the only friendly person. Everyone else was hard to approach, especially the woman who took our order. She was horrid, rude and disrespectful. I’ve stayed at other Nightcap hotels that were much better, with friendlier staff and newer, nicer rooms.

The beds were comfortable and the bistro food was reasonable, but both rooms were overpriced for their facilities and inclusions. Customers from the bistro and pokies made noise around the rooms until 3.45am, then cleaners could be heard at 6am. There was also quite a bit of mould in the shower.

The room looked okay from the doorway, but the cleanliness was poor and the cleaners need retraining. Our bed was lumpy, like two beds pushed together and taped up. I was itchy all night, and a spotlight from the main building shone straight into our room. The shower was mouldy, and I felt just as dirty afterward. Check-in took a wait for service. We were given breakfast, which sounded good, but there were no bowls, just a plastic container and a wooden spoon. I’ve never seen so many guests leave at once. Everyone said they’d had the same experience and couldn’t wait to go. It cost $219. Never again 😒

The shower had mould, its handles were loose and unsecured, and when I checked, the aircon filters were clogged with dust. Those are three major red flags for maintenance and OHS standards. I’d recommend this White King product for shower mould, no scrubbing needed!!!

Ewwwwww! The place was filthy. The bed had what looked like old vomit on it, and I don’t even want to think about what was on the curtain. The heater didn’t work, the TV remote was coated in something thick and sticky, the walls were dirty, and the room smelled of cigarettes and wet dog. They can’t even spell-check their signs, so expecting them to clean anything might be asking too much. It wasn’t cheap either. Honestly, I’d have been better off sleeping in the car. I need a decontamination shower and a lice check when I get home. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!
