Parkdale Motor Inn

I booked a long stay through booking.com for my sister, but travel delays meant she couldn’t make the trip as expected. I called the property from Canada several times. The owner was unhelpful and extremely rude, repeatedly hanging up as soon as he heard my voice, then dismissing me by saying he was very busy. Stay away and save yourself the trouble!

The walls were paper thin, so I could hear a neighbour’s phone conversation all night. Traffic noise was constant too, and the room was cold and grimy, with a hard bed, cheap polyester sheets and no doona. Towels were thin and scratchy, and the bathroom was dirty. It was such a rip off that the experience was almost laughable. This place should be demolished immediately.

Management were very helpful, and I’d recommend Parkdale to anyone. It’s a very nice place to stay, close to the city and shops, with an Indian restaurant at the foot of the reception.

We didn’t even make it an hour before packing up and leaving. The deluxe spa room was old, smelly and badly in need of renovation, with nothing deluxe about it. The spa had no plug, so I had to ask reception for one. Water from the shower head sprayed onto the mirror, and there was no tap to fill the kettle. The carpet and furniture looked like they’d been there since the early 1980's. I felt like I was in a prison cell, and my husband and I weren’t willing to stay overnight. I’d already paid the room fee for the night but couldn’t get a full or partial refund after leaving. What a waste of money. I don’t recommend it, especially for couples. Do not go!
