Punthill Williamstown

The room was clean and the location was good, but several things made the stay frustrating. The receptionist was friendly, though they didn't mention the car park height. We did get the parking fee refunded. There were only two coffee pods, and the receptionist found us two sachets, but in the morning we discovered there was no sugar and the milk was off. Both the little milk pods and the opened long-life carton were lumpy. The room phone didn't work despite the instructions for reaching reception. When I called from my mobile, the after-hours person said they'd try to get help, but nobody came, so we checked out rather than wait. The hairdryer had no back filter, and when my wife used it, her hair was sucked into the back. That's extremely unsafe. The front doors were also very heavy and awkward to manage with suitcases.

I really liked this place. The room was clean, and the receptionist was so kind and helpful. There's a private balcony, plus a rooftop where you can see Melbourne port.

Very basic, but convenient, with friendly staff, especially Annabelle. There weren't extras like bottled water or biscuits, and the shower was a bit of a nuisance. The balcony area closes at 7pm, so you can't use the hot tub then. The public balcony does have a great city view.

The staff were friendly, and the rest of the room facilities were fine, but the room really needed its refurbishment. The bed seemed on its last legs, the TV did too, and the surfaces were dusty. There was some renovation noise early in the morning. The shower head is oddly positioned over a tiny bath, which made it feel cramped. For that room quality, the price was ridiculous, it should have been a quarter as much. I was also disappointed the spa wasn't open at night, since I was out during the day and hoped to use it after coming back. A staff member told me to put the keycard in a slot to turn on the lights, though that wasn't needed, and gave me a wifi password I didn't need. It was odd, like the staff were working from an older version of the accommodation.
