We got good value in an accessible spot, with convenient transport nearby and a room large enough to sleep comfortably. The facilities were generally good and the staff helpful. The bathroom could be improved, though, and housekeeping seemed disorganised. They opened our door even though we’d paid for late checkout.

We’ve stayed in rooms with a great view over the rocket grounds and city. The bed is very comfortable, with lovely linen, and there’s plenty of space around it. Rooms have a big TV, a desk and chair, plus a lounge chair, though some have two. The dressing area has a mirror and benches, and there’s also a fridge and kettle. The walk-in shower is great and the towels are fluffy. Buffet breakfast has a good range of hot and cold options. Check-in parking is easy, as is getting into the underground car park. Reception staff are lovely and professional. From the parking you go to the lobby, then change lifts to get to the rooms. Highly recommended. This will be our preferred place to stay in the southern CBD.

The friendly staff were the best part, and the hotel is nicely appointed. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and lunch downstairs, and the live music on Sunday gave the place a great atmosphere. The location made it easy to get to Melbourne’s attractions, and friends could conveniently drop by thanks to the off-street parking. My wife and I had a lovely two-night stay from 28 Feb. Thanks to the staff and management. We’ll be back and highly recommend the view hotel.

The location is handy, with several trams nearby and the CBD about 15 minutes away. Our room was big enough but a little dated. There’s no pool, just a very small gym with a fantastic view. The main problem was a strong cigarette smell coming from the corridor into our room for two nights in a row. We reported it to reception both times, but nothing was really done.
