Quality Suites Beaumont Kew

We just checked in for two nights and are pleased with the place so far. The rooms and bathrooms are decent sized, relatively clean and tidy, and we haven't seen the poor standards other people mention. There were a couple of small spiders in the corner, but with big trees outside the window, that's to be expected in Australia. It's a budget hotel, so people used to four- or five-star places might be disappointed. For $320 for two nights, though, it seemed very reasonably priced, and there are heaps of shops within walking distance. I'm not sure why it has several poor reviews, but glad those negative experiences haven't happened to us.

The location was great, but there was nothing else positive about the motel. We took a chance because the room photos looked lovely for the price, but it was nothing like them. On arrival we were disgusted and regretted booking. Our first room was below ground level. The shower had black and red mould, the kettle was ferral, the beds sank under weight, and the sheet over the doona was stained. The whole room was dusty and filthy. We asked to move and got a 'Deluxe Queen', which wasn't much better: dishes in the sink, no window screens and a door lock that didn't work. My husband later found an unemptied rubbish bin with a USED CONDOM in it. After that, we refused to sleep under the cover. There was no mattress protector and red mould in the shower. We weren't offered a refund. For what we paid, it was extremely disappointing. I've never felt dirtier after a motel stay. ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOTEL.

We'd booked four nights but cancelled the remaining three after just the first one. It was too late to find somewhere else when we arrived around 8pm. The place was filthy, with hairs on the pillows and sheets and rubbish behind the curtains, including used earbuds and toothpaste. We had to put our own towels over the pillows and bedsheets to try to get some sleep. Worst hotel we've stayed in.

I left after spending an hour here, and Agoda fully refunded me. The place had a very strange energy. The garden wasn't cared for, the windows were dirty, and the stairs and shared walkways looked visibly grimy and unvacuumed. Under the bed seemed to have years of fluff and dust. The receptionist gave unclear directions to my room and was rude, then laughed when I asked her to clarify. During my hour there, I saw the man who lives in reception smoking and spitting saliva by the reception door several times. The receptionist acted as if she didn't know him, though he clearly lives at the establishment. I've stayed in plenty of budget backpackers with much better cleanliness and kinder staff. When I asked for the manager's name and number so I could complain, reception wouldn't give me the information.
