Quality Hotel Point Cook

I booked when there were more than five vacancies, then had to cancel within 45 minutes because of an emergency and let them know I couldn't come. Some places are understanding and waive the fee in situations like that, but this one charged me. The property manager wouldn't listen and argued with me. She showed no understanding and wasn't helpful at all.

I left before 11:30 PM without using anything in the room, not even the toilet or shower, because neither Room 5 nor Room 7 could be heated. I checked into Room 5 at 9 PM, set the heater to 27°C, and waited more than an hour. The night staff said other guests had raised the same problem and offered Room 7, but it was just as cold. At 11:25 PM I gave up and went looking for another nearby hotel. I asked for my $140 back and explained that I wasn't choosing to cancel, the hotel hadn't provided the warm room with working air conditioning that was advertised. The staff member refused and told me to call at 8 AM. I called the next day and spoke to a woman who said she was the shift manager. She was defensive, wouldn't listen, and acted like there was no problem. The room at Quality Hotel Point Cook (Seasons5) looked nice, but my June 1 stay was incredibly disappointing. I clearly explained that it didn't meet the advertised standard, and they wouldn't acknowledge or fix it. A clean room doesn't count for much if you can't get warm in winter and staff won't take responsibility. Not worth the time or money. Avoid it.

That $300 bond is ridiculous, though I don't think it's worth leaving a damaging review over. One local note: RAAF MUSEUM POINT COOK is just up the road, but you need to book at least 24 hours ahead for security screening. We had a nice stay for the Avalon Airshow. The room was great, the pool was heated, and the staff were nice. Only issues in the room were a missing TV remote and an empty body wash bottle in the shower.

The beds kept sliding apart during the night, so I couldn't sleep properly and woke with a sore back. The room was supposed to have a king bed, but it was really two smaller beds pushed together. The TV also had no signal or service and didn't work at all. I stayed in an apartment at Quality Hotels Point Cook on May 13, 2025, and found it shockingly dirty. Coffee stains were visible on the wall behind the couch, and there was thick dust and grime under and around the furniture. It felt as if someone had just moved out and nobody had cleaned before we arrived. They called it one of their “best apartments,” but the condition was nowhere near acceptable. One of the most disappointing stays I've had, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I wish there were an option for zero stars.
