We booked Quest Maribyrnong while our house was being renovated, since it’s a short walk from home, which made it very convenient. We didn’t use the car park. For three nights we had a two-bedroom apartment, a good size for roughly two to four guests. The fifth-floor views of maribyrnong were terrific, and the kitchen had the usual supplies, assuming you brought your own food. Highpoint, a supermarket, and takeaways are right across the street, so the location is great. The main lounge was quiet, spacious, clean, bright, and well presented, though the decor was bland. It was clearly set up for business travellers, with two desks and one small couch. The beds were comfortable, but a bit short for tall people. The bathroom fan was noisy at night, though it dried the shower quickly. Staff from reception to the cleaners were polite and efficient. We paid $850 for three nights, which was expensive, but there were no cheaper one-bedroom apartments available. Since it’s a small boutique hotel, we would have liked a pool, like Quest at Fleminton Racecourse where we’d stayed before. I’d recommend the hotel.

My husband stayed here for about four months while he was working nearby, and we joined him over Easter. The team at reception and management made everything easy, and we really appreciated their hospitality. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable and well priced, with everything close by. We’d happily book Quest Maribyrnong again.

The daytime staff were friendly and apologetic, but my late check-in turned into an awful experience with the after-hours duty manager. She spoke to me aggressively, talked over me, accused me of not knowing how to check into a hotel, and told me I needed to learn to do things properly. I found the conversation so upsetting that the next day I broke down in tears when a staff member apologized to me. I’ve never worked somewhere that would let an employee speak to a customer that way. This needs to be addressed, or I expect another guest will go through the same thing. Calling the encounter disgusting and unacceptable barely covers it. We’d driven for three hours and found reception closed. I couldn’t find any reception closing time in my confirmation email, receipt or booking portal, and the hotel hadn’t sent check-in instructions. The only email I got was the automated one from Agoda. A sign gave an after-hours number, but after 11 unanswered calls and pressing the doorbell as instructed, we still couldn’t reach anyone. We had nowhere else to go, so we contacted Agoda. They eventually reached the property, which refused to let us check in because we’d arrived late. I tried calling the hotel once more. The manager insisted the closing times were everywhere, even though I hadn’t seen them in the information that mattered to me as a customer. She said I’d expected her to wait by the front door, though I hadn’t asked her to do that. After I’d sat in the car for an hour waiting for a response, she finally gave me the five-digit code for my key. That was all she needed to do. Instead, she had turned down our check-in through Agoda and then berated me on the phone.

The nearby huge mall and all the eateries within driving distance made the location really convenient, and the city centre is about a 30-minute drive away. The price was reasonable too. We stayed at the end of December and were delighted with the apartments and service. They seemed almost brand new, or recently renovated. I’d absolutely go back.

Parking on site was secure and easy to get in and out of, and the room was excellent. The staff and reception were lovely too. Quest Maribyrnong is handy for the freeways, ring roads and main arterial roads, with Tullamarine easy to reach. Highpoint shopping centre, Bunnings and the homemaker centre are an eight-minute walk away, and the CBD is about 15 minutes away. I’d stay here again in Melbourne. I considered the CBD, but accommodation and parking there looked expensive and time-consuming.
