ReadySet Apartments at Manhattan

The location and building are very nice, but our Air Bnb room was run down and neglected. We paid a fortune expecting something with a bit of class, so we were really disappointed. The photos will tell the story. The aircon didn't work, the furniture was broken, and the room was unclean and shabby. Check the filters, and be careful what room they give you.

Great location and atmosphere, though the units are XS, extra small. Since so many units are linked with Airbnb, you meet all kinds of people in the lifts, pleasant or grumpy, young or old, sane or insane. One guy got in, stayed, and got out while standing upside down. The shared common area is nice for small family get-togethers, but it serves three apartment buildings: 220 Spencer St, 639 Lonsdale St and 33 Rose Ln.

The ground floor lobby is sleek and clean, but there aren't enough public seats. Reception only helps with general FAQs, and lift queues can mean a long wait at peak times. On the fifth floor, both the indoor and outdoor terraces have the indoor pool, shower and change room, bouldering wall, gym, lounge and barbecue area. You need an access card to use all the amenities.

Management are rude and unhelpful. Why take a customer-facing job if you act like you hate it? For the high strata fees, that's a shame. The elevator has been out for about a week. I hope the office team finds a new job that makes them happier.
